Iowa coach Lisa Bluder said it was a relief to have Clark's pursuit of the NCAA record end. “There are so many people who have come before me and laid such a great foundation for women’s basketball, and that has to be celebrated, too. The NCAA doesn't recognize that record because it was set when the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women governed women's college sports. Woodard and Maravich set their records when there was no 3-point shot in college basketball. ___AP women’s college basketball: https://apnews.com/hub/ap-top-25-womens-college-basketball-poll and https://apnews.com/hub/womens-college-basketball

The Ms. Foundation published research last week advocating for more financial support for women and gender nonconforming people of color leading nonprofits on the frontlines of social justices issues. “At this moment, when women and women’s bodies and gender nonconforming folks are being attacked on a daily basis, are they willing to move 10% to us?” Teresa Younger, Ms. Foundation’s president and CEO, said of other foundations. The Ms. Foundation found that many frontline organizations, like Power Rising, work across issue areas, often in tandem with other groups and in response to unfolding events. The organization advises foundations to build on trust-based giving, to support self-guided capacity building for these organizations, and to diminish grantmaking tied to specific issue areas. ___Associated Press coverage of philanthropy and nonprofits receives support through the AP’s collaboration with The Conversation US, with funding from Lilly Endowment Inc.

These interviews have been edited for length:HOUSTON — A longtime resident of Houston, Monica Fulton, 51, prioritizes giving to organizations serving the city’s residents. That changed in 2018 when she helped organize a group of donors who pool their funds to support small organizations serving women and girls on Chicago’s South Side. The giving circle makes relatively small grants to organizations that have budgets of less than $500,000, where those grants can make a big difference. During the height of the pandemic, they took an online training through the organization Philanthropy Together about how to run a giving circle. “They trust that the group is doing the vetting and that their money’s going to a good cause.

"PiS doesn't respect women," Magdalena Bojko, a 36-year-old office worker, said during an opposition rally this month. Some surveys show the mainstream opposition could form a majority government even if PiS is in first place. Activists say that's in part because women are scared of having children following a handful of cases when pregnant women died of sepsis in hospitals as doctors waited for the fetus' heart to stop beating. "Women in Poland are terrified." "The opposition says the biggest problem for women is the lack of access to abortion.

What is the legal foundation for women’s sports? After all, the most potent federal statute supporting parallel men’s and women’s sports leagues would appear — on its face — to also prohibit separate leagues. Race segregation in athletic programs is a legal and cultural taboo. Excluding a football player from a team simply because of his race is unlawful discrimination. Instead, Title IX has resulted in the expansion of women’s sports into an enormous, separate and parallel apparatus, where women by the millions compete against one another, winning women’s titles in women’s leagues.

Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, arrive at the 2022 Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Ripple of Hope Award Gala at the Hilton Midtown in New York on December 6, 2022. Britain's Prince Harry, his wife Meghan and her mother were involved in a "near catastrophic car chase" involving paparazzi photographers, a spokesperson for the prince said on Wednesday. Pictures that have appeared on social media have shown Harry, Meghan and her mother, Doria Ragland, in a taxi. "Last night, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ms Ragland were involved in a near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi," the spokesperson said in a statement. Harry and Meghan stepped down from their royal roles in 2020 and moved to the United States partly because of what they described as intense media harassment.
The incident occurred after they left the Ms. Foundation for Women on Tuesday night where Meghan was honoured for her work. "Last night, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ms Ragland were involved in a near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi," the couple's spokesperson said in a statement. The couple's spokesperson said the chase could have been fatal and involved paparazzi driving on the sidewalk, running red lights, and driving while taking pictures. Pictures that have appeared on social media show Harry, Meghan and her mother sitting in the back of a New York taxi. The spokesperson said these were "a small glimpse at the defense and decoys required to end the harassment".
